What is a brand?
The brand is nothing but a product, an idea or a concept which is distinctly ahead than other competitors.
My advice: “Be unique and simple” and ‘tips to brand your blog’ is just gonna work for you.
Example: When you see the below logo do I need to explain which brand it belongs to? No, because it is uniform, simple, elegant, easy to remember and definitely maintained all those things for a long time.
What do I need to do?
Let’s start with the basics of branding ‘Logo’
Choose your logo very carefully which should explain the meaning of your business. Most of the people just copy some idea from the 5th-10th page of google where normally we don’t reach thinking they are unique but is smart and bloggers are even smarter.
I precisely spent a good amount of time designing my logo. Logo best explains your brand.
The logo is basically the face of your brand. When you meet someone I don’t think you remember them by their DNA 🙂
You like them because they might be funny, intelligent, attractive. So focus on your logo. Feel free to ask and I can help you with your new logo. It’s not gonna cost you anything.

Another important aspect of branding is a brand name. It should be easy to remember and pronounce.
Example: AUDI, BMW, NIB (nextisbest)
Normally when a blogger chooses a blog name he gets very excited to fill all the possible keywords in the domain name hoping he will rank on Google.
Do you think this really gonna work? No, let your visitor remember your brand name easily. It’s more like telling your visitor that your blog address is 192.5.x.108 and expect them to remember.
Keep your style consistent
Last but not the least keep the design, color theme, logo and writing style consistent. Will you feel good if you see a red theme website today and after 5 days its green? Again after one month yellow. You will definitely loose the confidence. Because when you become returning visitor you get used to of the site and start remembering you favorite post locations.
Also, be regular on the blog. That doesn’t mean you need to post daily but don’t let your visitors feel starving.
How long does it take to create a brand?
This question will definitely have different perspective according to the individuals. For me, it’s a long term and consistent process.
If I am a bluechip company like ‘Times of India’ then definitely I would not have to worry about branding and possibly not reading this post. So I am considering the people who are new.
It takes a considerable amount of time to invest in the best logo, a WordPress theme and most importantly content. I would recommend going for premium WordPress theme because it will provide unique design and theme support. Which will definitely save a lot of time.
Where am I standing at the moment?
Keep your eyes on the analytics and play around the data. Google analytics is my most used application in the phone after my twitter
Don’t forget to spend time on the social media to promote your blog. You can use some free tools like HootSuite to automate the process. But in the beginning, don’t run after so much of automation.
This small tip will help you to find your position.
Who can help me?
Don’t be selfish, give help first and then take help. Everyone will help you.
If you are just starting a new blog, read: How to start a blog?
Follow your fellow bloggers and appreciate their work and you will get the return. Be generous while writing content don’t get too focused on monetizing the blog.
You must read: How to increase visibility of your blog?
Maybe this last section seems very easy but trust me this one was the most difficult to follow when I started. Because generosity is a practice and you cannot pretend to be generous.
I am pretty excited this time and hoping some good value for visitors. Please let me know if ‘tips to brand your blog’ really helped you.
