Why iPhone 7 doesn't have a headphone jack

Why iPhone 7 doesn’t have a headphone jack?

Welcome to another blog in the Fact Series. You would be surprised to hear that one of the most demanding and prestigious brands Apple launched its new iPhone 7 without a headphone jack.

But why? I was curious to know if Apple was planning something big for iPhone 7.

So here are some facts presented by Apple in support of removing the headphone jack.

1) iPhone 7 doesn’t have a headphone jack because Apple wanted to make it lighter and also introducing a new technology. Though it comes with an alternative adapter which will allow you to use your old headphones.

? For the matter of argument its look nice but you cannot use you old headphone while charging the phone because you need to use an adapter. So it’s really not making much sense to me.

2) The second reason iPhone 7 doesn’t have a headphone jack: Because that will create a lot of space for other technology like 42% (Approx) larger battery in iPhone 7, water and dust resistance and for better camera installation.

? Definitely, people would have a different argument on this and I would love to hear if you have any different perspective on this.

3) The third and the most important reason iPhone 7 doesn’t have a headphone jack: Because Apple believes that WIRELESS is the future. A report explained that the wireless device sales have beaten the wired devices.

? At the same time they are also launching a new wireless product “AirPods”. AirPods new device is compatible with all the other models of iPhone then why they are launching with iPhone 7. Its seems they are promoting one more product of USD 159.

I would love to hear if you have any interesting facts about iPhone 7. Please leave a comment and help the people who are going to pot a lot of money with this brand.

  1. I heard Apple is using the freed up space for extra technologies, likely focused on the A10 Fusion processor and battery cell.Correct me If I’m wrong.
If Apple makes good use of the extra space in its phones the port removal could one day be worth it. But at the same time I feel It’s marketing strategy for “AirPods”.
Awesome Share @Vikas , You did detailed research 🙂

  2. I am not at all a fan of Apple. I am sincerely loyal to Samsung and will always be, I think. But, these are good-to-know facts. Thanks for sharing. I’m sure, these will be helpful for the Apple Fans.

    1. Hello Saswati, thanks for writing. As you mentioned “Samsung” I would like to add: Samsung S7 can be charge wirelessly and they also provide headphone jack with full water and dust resistance. So I am little surprised why Apple spent billions of dollar on RND 🙂

  3. Hello Vikas,
